I found Elkanah through the sweeten website. I had been looking for a contractor to renovate my kitchen; the existing kitchen I had was extremely outdated, the appliances were falling apart and holes in the floor were causing issues with little critters. Carlos, the owner, was immediately responsive once I scheduled my free on-site consult. He arrived on time and brought his foreman as well. They measured my kitchen, gave me some insight on what to expect with what I wanted to do, and followed up within one or two days with an estimate. The estimate was right around what I was looking to spend on a full gut renovation.
By the following week, Carlos picked me up and took me "shopping"; we went to the cabinetry store where I was able to see the cabinet, style, and color, along with the countertop and backsplash. He then took me to home depot, where I was able to see the appliances and get a better idea of the size and price of each.
The project started and ended within the timeframe I was given; three weeks. Carlos' team showed up on time, 8 am or earlier, and stayed late a few days to wrap up their work. They covered my walls and floor during the entire project so that my furniture and paint did not get damaged as they took things out and brought all the new materials in. They made sure to clean up at the end of each work day and were extremely respectful and pleasant. I work from home most weekdays; I stayed in my bedroom and whenever they needed me they knocked and were always polite. I never worried about what they were doing because every day they made great progress in the kitchen.
Carlos and his team communicated with me whenever I reached out; weekends, late nights, they were there to answer questions and make me feel less anxiety about living in home where heavy construction is taking place. They were even open to addressing some other areas in my house that I needed assistance in, which wasn't necessary on their part, but so very appreciated that they were willing to do more than just work on the kitchen!
They finished the project a day early and came back when I experienced an issue with my new washer that I couldn't figure out on my own. At the end of this project, I ended up paying about $1,500 over the budget but it was due to me having to change the layout of the kitchen last minute, which led to having to get some more countertop space and an extra cabinet, along with the appliances being a bit more than anticipated. On the last day of the project, the team vacuumed, dusted, swept, and wiped down my entire living room and kitchen.
I am over the moon with my new kitchen and absolutely without a doubt recommend Elkanah Remodeling to anyone looking for quality service, work, and results. Their price is reasonable and they are worth every single penny!
